This series of varieties has been awarded the "National Harvest Prize for Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Fishery". It was jointly developed by the Institute of Vegetables and Flowers of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Shouguang Vegetable Research and Development Center of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Led by researcher Wang Lihao, the pepper genetic breeding team applied molecular marker technology to integrate multiple desirable traits through breeding practices, filling the gap in China's pepper varieties resistant to PMMoV (Pepper mild mottle virus) and TSWV (Tomato spotted wilt virus). Zhongjiao 107 accounts for 60% of the early-maturing protected sweet pepper cultivation area in North China.

Zhongjiao 1615 has become the leading sweet pepper variety for protected cultivation in northern regions.

Zhongjiao Changfu exhibits outstanding resistance, reducing pesticide usage by 30%.

This series of varieties represents a successful practice of industrial revitalization supporting rural revitalization through technological innovation.
